Q&A
What is mnemonic code?
Mnemonic is another form of plaintext private key, which was first proposed by BIP39, and its purpose is to help users remember complex private keys.
Mnemonic words are generally composed of 12, 15, 18 and 21 words, all of which are taken from a fixed word base and generated in a certain order according to a certain algorithm, so users do not need to worry about randomly entering 12 words will generate an address. Anyone who gets your mnemonic can easily take your assets, so it's important to keep your mnemonic.
Notes for mnemonic preservation:
- Use physical backup as far as possible, such as writing on paper with a pen. Do not take screenshots or photos and put them in the device connected to the Internet to prevent hackers from stealing and losing assets;
- The first preservation must verify the backup of the mnemonic is correct, once copied wrong one or two words, then it will be a great difficulty to find the correct mnemonic;
- Remember to take good care of the backup mnemonic and take anti-theft measures.
