What is the difference between on-demand space and dedicated space?#

  • In an on-demand space, you only own the space the blocklet occupies.
  • In the dedicated space, you own an entire Blocklet Server instance, in which you can run as many blocklets as you can.

Is the number of blocklets limited in a dedicated space? #

  • From the Blocklet Server's perspective, there is no limitation on how many blocklets you can run in a dedicated space
  • However, each blocklet you run in a dedicated space will take more CPU, Memory, Disk, and Network bandwidth, so there will always be a limit (you will know you have hit the limit when your blocklets are running slow).

Is the number of blocklets limited in an on-demand space?#

There are currently no restrictions, but restrictions may be imposed in future versions. Please note that each component are treated as a pricing unit according to our

If I stop the entire blocklet, will I still be charged?#

If the number of components is greater than 0, the stopped application will still be charged. The charges are now based on the number of components, and the charge amount will only be 0 if there are no components.

Why some blocklet cannot be launched in on-demand spaces?#

Some Blocklets require special resources, or consume more memory and CPU, so they are temporarily not supported to run in on-demand spaces.
