Search Kit is a composable, reusable Blocklet that focuses on providing full-text search capabilities. We have been continuously iterating and improving this component in the past. Currently, users mainly perceive Search Kit through its integration in the search function of Discuss Kit. In version 2.0.150 of Discuss Kit, we specifically focused on optimizing the search function to allow you to find the content you need faster and more efficiently, leveraging the capabilities provided by Search Kit.
How to use the search function#
Currently, this feature has been updated to our WWW site and Community site. You can click the search icon at the top right corner of the navigation bar to enter the search interface and find the content you need.
Unified Search Experience#
Users can search for various types of content within a unified search interface. Whether you’re looking for discussions, blogs, or documents, you can easily find them all in the same interface. This reduces the hassle of switching between different pages, thus making the search experience more seamless.
Filtering#
To help users find the content they need more quickly, we have introduced various filters, including author, assignee, and labels, making the search more efficient and precise.
Ordering#
We have also provided users with multiple sorting options to meet different needs. The sorting feature allows users to sort search results by relevance, newest, oldest, and most recently active, further enhancing the precision of the search.
Mobile Friendly#
The search interface fully supports responsive layout, ensuring a consistent and smooth user experience on both desktop and mobile devices. We have adopted a clean and intuitive design principle, allowing users to get started easily without the need for complex training.
How to enable Search Kit in your project#
For Blocklet owner/admin, enabling the enhanced search functionality is simple—just install the Search Kit Blocklet and restart the Discuss Kit. This configuration step ensures flexibility, allowing administrators to easily enable or disable the feature as needed.
Discuss Kit will automatically discover Search Kit and enable the search features.
